Oh no, I'm too much of a domineering bastard to let people carry weapons. You're welcome in my republic, but only I and my minions get to be armed.

Actually... I don't know if you've ever read Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson, but a billionaire owns an old aircraft carrier and sails it around between asia and the west coast of the US. Good book, btw. The aircraft carrier thing isn't anything to do with the plot.
