Lol, Well he doesn't appear to be anything of a clothes boff, mostly because they are always covered in blood. Perhaps he modelled the Rambo outfit.

The new AWK album "the wolf" is out!! w00000t!

How can an album with this cover be sucking!?

Image

I listened it a few times by now, and imo it's not really better or worse than his first, just different. More piano, more guitar solo's, more background vocals, less concrete 4-layer guitar ramming, but still enough to get around!! :D

Some reviews!

"Love him or hate him, Andrew W.K. is an exceptionally formidable force. Unrelentingly positive, Andrew rocks the party like nobody’s business on The Wolf, his second major label release. Oft-criticized for rocking without irony, there’s a pretty huge segment of the population (me included) that enjoys A.W.K.’s anthemic, nay regal, rock ‘n’ roll. Piano-based single "Never Let Down" sounds as huge as A.W.K.’s personality, with a rousing chorus that’s just made for raising your fist in solidarity. Later, on "The Song," he encourages the world to "never stop singing the song," and really, why would you want to? While the last album, I Get Wet, was primarily concerned with partying, The Wolf only makes one titular mention ("Long Live The Party"), though it is a good one. The Wolf, does however look at love and sex ("Make Sex," "Really In Love") and Music ("I Love Music"). Let the cynics winge over Andrew’s sincerity, the rest of us will be too busy grinning and singing along out to care!"

Next;

"Andrew W.K.'s out-there heavy-metal shtick has won him admirers with everyone from trucker cap-sporting hipsters to Johnny Knoxville's Jackass nation, but that doesn't alleviate the fact that his records are still incredibly tiring affairs. Fun, but tiring. Imagine Def Leppard on steroids singing football-rally chants, and you're halfway there. The party animal's second disc is pretty much the same as his head-banging debut, only louder and with more keyboards. Fist-pumping numbers like "Your Rules" and "Tear It Up" lead the charge. And then he wants to party, like, forever, with "Long Live the Party." Man, where does this guy get his energy?"

"Andrew WK has built on his debut album 'I Get Wet' and made an album that is even better. Listening to an Andrew WK album is an uplifting experience which makes you feel good about life. Any fan of rock music that hasn't discovered AWK should buy this album, you won't be disapointed!"

Especially: "Imagine Def Leppard on steroids singing football-rally chants, and you're halfway there..." is a damn good compliment lol

The cd opens with the great song: "Victory Strikes Again!", a two minutes blast of screaming guitars, piano, and ofcourse andrew and some ppl singing over-the-top bombastic anthems!!

In two minutes there's 4 lines text:

"this...is...why...we...are..aliiiiiiivvveee!!!
We all live like we're going to dieee-aaa-iie!
we..are here...we...are hiiiigh
and that is why we love to live our liiiiiives!!!"

Don't you just love it!

P.S. to show how great he is; he's gonna personally call and thank 1000 (!) fans who bought his album lol! Only US tho :/

The relentless favoring of that which is easy over that which is demanding.

Waving the flag of false honesty as a means to absolve oneself from any sort of care or gentleness. Mistaking being truthful with being cruel.
"You hurt my feelings."
Response: "I was just being honest! Gosh, you've got to be able to take what I say."
"You could have been nicer."
Response: "Hey, I'm not going to lie."
Someone who has the will to be honest should use that power with caution and should have the strength to know how to ultimatly create the most good in the end. If we criticize someone - can we do it in a way that really helps, or are we determined to be cold and "honest". Having real power is knowing when not to use it. When someone asks you something like, "do you like what I made?", they are giving you a lot of power. This is not power that you have earned all yourself or that you have created, it is power that has been given to you through the outreaching trust of someone else. Use it carefully and wisely. Help more than you hurt. And don't be lazy. Just being "honest" is a poor excuse for a sloppy and calous reaction
