oh, lovely. Everyone I've talked to says it was good. Same with Iron Man, in fact. Then again, most people I know have no taste in movies. :/

On a related subject, we recently purchased the original Die Hard trilogy. Yippie kay yay.

oh god, that would drive me nuts.

I worked in a call center form about 2000-2004... the hold music was the horrible muzak crap with pianos. It never changed in the 4 years I was there. To this day if I hear one of the songs I want to vomit.

Hehehe...when I was still in the Czech Republic, I used to frequent a HUGE supermarket with about 30 cash lanes. The incessant "beep"-ing of the bar code scanners echoing through the huge, hollow space would drive me crazy even for the 5 minutes I spent at the register...

I always figured that at least 25% of the people who worked there would one day snap and shoot up the place. Consequently, I felt rather ill at ease at this place.

Yeah...I'm weird.

ha...yea.... you're a bit on the odd side Ox. At least there's an ocean separating me from your eventual murder-genocide-suicide episode.

So every wednesday i watch The Unit on tv. In Estonia its the second season running and today/yesterday was "game of chance". I remember when the first episode was running it was so boring but the second season is like from another world, i cant wait till the next episode. Thumb up for The Unit.

Dirty Harry series. If you didn't watch it and you like crime / action, don't be waiting for another second.

We watched the most recent Futurama movie that came out a few days ago. It was ok. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054485/

On the other hand, it had a preview for the next one and it looks pretty promising.

Just got back from seeing Get Smart. 'Twas really enjoyable! Not the best movie I've even seen, but full of laughs, and a halfway decent storyline.

I saw the Hulk (the more recent one). It's decent. It's not great but it's not horrible either.

IMO, Hollywood needs to get over its CGI fixation. The stuff looks too fake.

Not recent stuff but just done one of those cheapie Amazon orders, Unforgiven, fargo, casino, seven all for much cheapness each.

I'd actually forgotten how good Unforgiven is, fantastic film tbh.

I saw 'Touching the void' yesterday. By accident, on TV, but I couldn't stop watching. It's a film/documentary about two guys trying to climb a glacier in Peru for the very first time, and what happens to them. An absolutely haunting story with amazing imagery and a unique testimonial by both men.

A quote from it:

Quote:
I was brought up as a devout Catholic. I had long since stopped believing in God.

I always wondered, if things really hit the fan, whether I would, under pressure, turn around and say a few Hail Mary's, and say "get me out of here". It never once occurred to me. It meant that I really don't believe. And I really do think that when you die, you die. That's it, there's no afterlife.

There's nothing.

I can only recommend it so much.

Unbelievable crap:

The Mutant Chronicles (2008)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490181/

Eden Log (2007)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1087842/

Don't even bother to touch it, for it might make you feel bored for a whole decade.
