heh...apparently, the 2004 earthquake in Sumatra was watched closely by some satellites we have in orbit to detect gravity fluctuations, so we were actually able to watch as gravity change in response to the earthquake. That's cool. Now I want a satellite that'll cause earthquakes.

Does that mean that given enough earthquakes we could walk like we were on the moon? I used to know a nutter who had this theory figured out that during some total solar eclipse (which requires a certain positioning of the planets as you might know) gravity would get reversed and we'd all shoot off into space. :)

needless to say, nothing happened during the eclipse. I always wonder what those guys predicting a doomsday do after fuck all happens? Do they shrug their shoulder and predict a new date? Get a life? Kill themselves over it? All valid options.

Anyway, cool article. :) Humanity ftw.

well most of the doomsday guys predict it well past their lifetime. They're not dumb enough to hang around and take the flak after we realise we're still alive ;)
