Some general i think claims now all the techniques used come from the US army manual, which follows the Geneva convention. Also heard that in Guantanamo the same tactics are being used. Constant exposure to noise, heat or cold, light, ... to give some examples. Dunno what the precise orders were, every day a new photo appears to turn up, this time someone that gets attacked by dogs or so. Dunno.

Appearantly british soldiers aren't as clean as i thought, our good friend Tony Blair just apologized for the misbehaviour, so they went out of line as well.

On the naked guy thing: I'm not sure about it, but my bet is that being naked and all the things they have to do could possibly conflict with the islam, or maybe it's just more humiliating to them. Only thing prisoners have is their self-image i heard today, so by destroying that image, they break the prisoners will.

11b: The first set of photos taken with the prisoners and the British troops are fake because if many reasons. 1st, the rifle on the photo is an Enfield SA-80 Mk1. The standard issue now is the Enfield SA-80 Mk2.

2nd, the uniforms dont match. The prisoner appears unhurt, not bruised instead quite chubby.

Anyway: a big lol at the Geneva Convention .. again

I have seen all the photos the news has posted and I have to be honest, the only one that I question is the naked pile up. All the other ones are stuff I would expect to see POW's doing.

The thing with the loud music, hell they did that to us in basic training. lol,it sucked but it wasn’t torture.

And then there is the picture of the guy wearing a hood, standing on a wooden box with wires attached to his fingers. They told him that if he steps off the box he will get shocked. Ummm.... thats not torture. Thats a method of extracting information. I mean how else are you supposed to get information out of a POW? Say please?

Based on more information Im hearing in the news and radio, these sound all like standard procedures. ALTHOUGH!

I did hear something on the radio today about the women who took the pictures. Supposedly, her dad is a homicide detective and her mom is a forensics specialist, and someone interviewed the parents and they said that shes used to those kinds of images because they used to show her pictures from work all the time. The women took her own picture with a corpse!

Hmm, getting prisoners bitten by dogs is that a standard procedure?
Saw a bit of a documentary of people that were in Guantanamo, but appeared to be innocent. This one guy had done totally nothing wrong and had spent 2 months in Khandahar i believe, then a year in Guantanamo. The american army has promised lots of money to people that turn taliban-fighters/al qaida-fighters in. So in a poor country that Afghanistan is, you're bound to end up in trouble. This one guy was 'sold' for 5000 dollars. Another guy (also innocent) was turned in by business rivals that wanted to take his business over, for 10 000 dollar. This system is fucked up when you use it in poor countries.

Some examples of 'standard torture' they had to undergo: for 40 days, they were exposed to constant light and guards were making noise by drumming on containers. If they looked an american soldier in the eyes, they had to stay in the full sun on their knees for 12 hours, next time is was 24 hours. Their hands and ancles were twice the size because they were constantly wearing coves (sp?).

Though to swallow if you're innocent.

I understand they want to get their information as fast as possible, and saying please won't help much indeed. But you could pose some questions on the ways they gather their information. Like the 'exposing to noise and light', when does the standard procedure become torture? After 40 days i wouldn't call it standard procedure anymore. And what the hell could a regular soldier have for valuable information i wonder? And lots of other questions.

They rerun the documentary right now i notice, see if they show anything else interesting.

*146 Guantanamo prisoners are released atm, prolly innocent otherwise they wouldn't have been released*

*they lined the prisoners up, then released the dogs. jeej*

*Geneva convention says: respect for physical and psychological side of the prisoners. Those photos say something different*

*Guantanamo prisoners aren't Prisoners Of War, but terrorists according to america, so they have no rights  . That's just playing with words, that's like saying 'i plomise' and not keeping your promise, you didn't have to because you didn't say the exact word.*

*These pictures could feed the hatred against the western world, more terrorst attacks maybe, that's what we needed*

I had read something in the news as well about the majority of prisoners where innocent. I’m sure that happened and that’s a shame. I mean image going to a place like Iraq and Afghanistan, it’s hard to pick out faces and remember faces.

I would consider terrorist POW's because we are "At War with Terror".

I don’t know, looks to be explained. I have a feeling there is something else to this whole story than meets the eye.

All these thing that where done are minds games. This kinda stuff has probably been used by all nations for ever, it just now in the information age we happen to see pictures of it.
