I deleted it because of r0xor randomness, woohaa! heh. Not really, I have no idea what happened to it. :)

Jesus, freaky videos indeed. And seems like the biggest fucked up thing about the tsunami is (apart from it being freakishly powerful) is that there weren't any real safety procedures, both because tsunamis are relatively rare over there and because those third-world countries don't have the means to follow them up correctly or to reach the population like they should. Apparently there's a specialized center on the East Coast of the US following up these things, warning the population and so on...plus, they teach kids in school what the signs of a coming tsunami are. (water pulling away rapdily, then waves then monsterwave) Unlike thailand etc.

Given that the tsunami took an hour to reah the shores of thailand, tons and tons of dead could have been avoided. ah well. :(

I've also heard that a couple of people have been swept off our north western coast because of the force of the tsunamis..... thats very strange. I could have heard wrong though.

the website with the videos seems to have croaked (well, not the site, just the video links). Anyone have copies? I can mirror them on my site.

Terrible thing this. You could say that people shouldnt live in these risky areas. Then again, you could say that the very reason there is life on this earth is because there is so much activity.

Anyway.

(A point especially to 11B): Im proud to say that currently the British Gvt has donated £50m ($96m or EUR-70m). And the British people have donated £25m ($48m or EUR-35m). Making the total British contribution:

£75,000,000 = $144,000,000 = E105,000,000

Thats amazing.

Satis: haven't saved them, sorry.

Latest count: 124.000 dead. And some islands have been completely swept away; plus a volcano erupted nearby. Seems like shit is still hitting the fan. :/

Cool@ the UK, the US has increased its contribution six times or summit, a whole crapload of cash anyway.

I'm not sure how much the Australia government are donating, but the community have really got behind it. I'm not sure what the tallies are up to, but I have heard they are huge.
Aus are also sending over one of our navy ships, and multiple helicopters to help move stuff around etc.
It's so sad that they are low on so many essentials. eg. sheets, disinfectant, antiobiotics.
I was talking to my friends dad last night who works for one of the biggest pharmaceutical (know i spelt that wrong) companies in the world, and he was saying that yesterday they had donated antibiotics for 70,000 and bandages for about 100,000.
The generosity of some people truly is amazing.

Possible though isn't it? After all the earthquake seemed to affect most of south-east Asia and parts of Africa.

Rinoxville personal donations have hit the 0€ mark. :) Hehe. But seriously, I'm impressed with all the international help, good stuff. On a sideways donatory note: Donation to Satis still pending until I get a loan back from a mate. :/
