What exactly does: "it is a degenerative disease of the colon" mean? Since i know some people that have Crohns Disease and the symptons really depend from case to case, this one guy i know really has no problems with it at all.

Anyway, that would put me out of the mood for sure. I mean come on .. my grandfather was in the hospital with a 'stoma' as we call it (if i got the story right) and i thought that was disgusting enough.

My neighbour has it. Its a disease that renders the intestines useless (by infection or summin) so you have to get rid of them.

Ehm .. can someone just literally translate the sentence. Colon = intestins or what, and degenerative means .. well that it's getting worse is what i think. Anyway, i bet it's totally exaggerated.

Crons Disease affects the intestins yeah, but if they have to be removed i think you have the worst case scenario. A friend of mine at uni had it, and he ate about everything (like frozen bitterballs lol) and he drank beer as the best, so his intestins weren't that infected at all. In fact he didn't have any troubles at all. So 'rendering intestins useless' is prolly the worst degree of the disease.
My mom has it too btw, so i'm pretty up-to-date on it. Not that much is known about it yet, she can't donate blood for example, although there is no evidence that you can get it through blood. They don't know if you can inherit it either.

Mm, well technically speaking it's correct then, there's no cure for it. But as i mentioned, some people got Chron's Disease and don't have a single problem. And in the cases i know it's not getting worse with age either.
